Patagonian program of Argentine birds

Located in the center of the town of El Chaltén is the base of operations for work in the southern area of the province of Santa Cruz. This work base is part of a framework agreement between the Secretariat of Environment of Santa Cruz and the Provincial Agrarian Council (CAP). It is a place of great importance because it allows conservation, management and research actions to be carried out, but it also favors the logistics for the work of the Patagonia Program and for collaborating groups. It consists of a housing module and a dome.

Reservations

Availability: All year round, reservation and confirmation required.
Maximum length of stay: To be defined according to space availability
Cost of stay: Free for Argentine researchers.
Important: Please note that if your research project requires it, you must also present the approved research permits from the Provincial Agrarian Council and/or the National Parks Administration -Southern Patagonia Regional Directorate-, as appropriate (both are valid for one year). Persons staying and/or working at the station will be required to have personal accident insurance or ART certificate (in case of CONICET personnel or other state units).
